ABSTRACT

In the high risk environment Utility arborists operate in, identifying and mitigating psychosocial hazards is crucial for fostering a workplace culture where employees feel safe to speak up. By addressing these hazards, we can reduce stress, anxiety, and other negative impacts on mental health. Building a supportive envirionment involves recognising the barriers that prevent open communication and actively working to remove them.

In this talk we explore how the right mechanisms, play a vital role in developing this culture by communicating critical information clearly and allowing employees to share their thoughts and concerns without fear of negative consequences, fostering trust and honest feedback. By leveraging these technologies, organisations can enhance communication, improve employee well-being, and ultimately create a safer and more productive workplace.
